Young male Japanese macaque escapes from Highland Wildlife Park

A young male Japanese macaque named Luka escaped from his habitat at Highland Wildlife Park on 17 August 2026. Search teams are using thermal imaging drones and other techniques to locate him in the Balavil area, and the public is advised not to approach but to report sightings.
