Zoo highlights Barbary macaque conservation through new Macaque Medina exhibit

The new Macaque Medina enclosure aims to educate visitors about threats facing Barbary macaques, including deforestation, the pet trade and human interference. The zoo supports conservation charity Barbary Macaques Awareness and Conservation (BMAC) and notes that fewer than 8,000 Barbary macaques remain in the wild, with over 50% of populations declining in the last 40 years.
