Two female Przewalski's horses from Marwell Zoo released to the wild in Kazakhstan

Shara and Togs, two female Przewalski's horses bred at Marwell Zoo, have been successfully returned to their native range in Kazakhstan as part of an international reintroduction programme. The release marks another milestone in the species' remarkable recovery from extinction in the wild, with Marwell having worked with Przewalski's horses for over 50 years since the zoo's opening in 1972.
