Blackpool Zoo celebrates birth of UK's first female Hartmann's Mountain Zebra foal since 2002

A healthy female Hartmann's Mountain Zebra foal named Wakanda was born at Blackpool Zoo on 5th September, marking a significant milestone for the vulnerable species. She is the first surviving female of her kind born in the UK in 16 years and is critical to the European Endangered Species Breeding Programme, which has only 235 individuals across 54 international institutions.
